Selain memberikan perintah pada animasi, kita juga bisa mengisikan pemrograman dengan action. Misalnya kita bisa membuat kalkulator yang dapat digunakan untuk menghitung atau bahkan membuat game sekalipun. Tetapi pembuatan hal tersebut sangat kompleks dan membutuhkan banyak usaha.

Flash menggunakan bahasa ActionScript untuk menambahkan interaktivitas ke dalam animasi. Bahasa ActionScript ini mirip dengan bahasa JavaScript. Pada dasarnya ActionScript ini adalah suatu kumpulan perintah yang digunakan untuk mengaktifkan suatu action tertentu. Untuk memunculkan menu action script, pilih window>action maka akan muncul kotak dialog berisi pilihan pilihan action yang bisa kita gunakan.

Menggunakan Basic Actions

Belajar action membutuhkan kesabaran yang tinggi dan membutuhkan waktu. Karena kita masih baru tahap pengenalan dengan action maka kita belajar action yang paling dasar yaitu basic actions. Sebenarnya dengan menggunakan basic action sudah cukup digunakan untuk membuat web kita interaktif tetapi jika menginginkan sesuatu yang lebih, baru kita menggunakan action lainnya yang lebih rumit.

Basic Actions pada Action Panel mengijinkan kita untuk mengendalikan navigasi dan interaksi pemakai pada sebuah animasi dan membuat Flash yang menuliskan ActionScript tersebut. Untuk melihat apa saja yang terdapat dalam basic action klik menu basic action pada panel action sehingga muncul beberapa sub menu.

* Go To untuk melompat ke frame atau scene tertentu.
* Play and stop untuk memainkan dan menghentikan animasi.
* Toggle High Quality untuk mengatur kualitas penampilan animasi tersebut.
* Get URL untuk sebagai link ke suatu situs.
* FSCommand untuk mengendalikan player Flash yang menjalankan animasi.
* Load Movie dan Unload Movie untuk menampilkan ataupun menghilangkan animasi.
* Tell Target untuk mengendalikan animasi dan klip lainnya.
* If Frame is Loaded untuk menjalankan action yang akan mengawasi apakah frame tertentu telah dijalankan.

Animasi merupakan satu fungsi utama dari Flash. Animasi, dan cara pembuatannya tidak sesederhana menggerakkan sesuatu dari titik A ke titik B. Ada banyak faktor yang harus dipertimbangkan untuk membuat animasi yang efektif dan efisien.

Animasi pada awalnya berupa kumpulan atau potongan gambar yang ditampilkan bergantian secara cepat. Karena keterbatasan mata kita, kita tidak bisa membedakan setiap gambar yang satu dengan yang lainya dan yang tampak dalam mata kita adalah sebuah gerakan yang disebut animasi.

Dalam film, setiap bagian gambar itu disebut frame. Frame frame tersebut berganti dengan kecepatan tertentu sehingga tidak nampak oleh mata kita. Kecepatan banyaknya frame yang ditampilkan dihitung dalam satuan frame per detik (fps = frame per second). Film yang kita saksikan di bioskop menampilkan 24 frame per detik. Videotape dan televisi menampilkan 30 frame per detik.

Semakin tinggi kecepatan dari frame maka gambar yang dihasilkan akan semakin halus tetapi kerugiannya adalah memerlukan jumlah frame yang lebih banyak dengan waktu yang sama. Misalnya film kecepatan 50 frame perdetik lebih baik daripada 25 frame perdetik, tetapi dengan waktu yang sama misal dua jam, untuk kecepatan 50 frame perdetik membutuhkan lebih banyak frame daripada yang kecepatannya 25 frame perdetik dan itu berarti sebuah pemborosan. Dengan menggunakan flash kita bisa menentukan kecepatan frame dari animasi yang kita buat sehigga bisa optimal pada saat dimasukkan dalam web.

Grid adalah sebuah set garis-garis yang saling berpotongan vertikal dan horisontal yang berguna sebagai penuntun menggambar dan meletakkan elemen – elemennya, fungsinya mirip seperti kertas grafik pada dunia nondigital. Flash juga menggunakan grid untuk meluruskan benda jika anda mengaktifkan fitur Snap to Grid. Karena grid hanya sebagai alat bantu maka grid tidak muncul pada hasil movie anda.

Cara memunculkan grid dari menu View, pilih Grid > Show Grid.

Jika fasilitas grid ini dalam keadaan aktif maka terdapat tanda cek disampingnya dan pada stage memperlihatkan suatu set garis-garis berpotongan sebagai bagian dari Stage.

Grid yang ada dalam stage dapat diatur sesuai dengan keinginan kita yaitu warna dan ukuran panjang dan lebarnya. Caranya adalah gunakan menu view>grid>edit grid sehingga muncul kotak dialog mengenai setting dari warna dan ukuran dari grid.

Ruler dan guides membantu anda dalam menggambar obyek dengan presisi ukuran, bentuk, dan posisi pada Stage.

Untuk memunculkan ruler, pilih menu view>rulers.

Guides digunakan untuk meluruskan antara gambar yang ada pada stage dengan ruler. Caranya klik rulers yang ada di pinggir yang horisontal atau yang vertikal. Kemudian drag ke arah stage dan letakkan pada tempat yang sesuai dengan keperluan.

1.1. Menu

Menu pada Macromedia Flash Pro 8 terdiri dari: File, Edit, View, Insert, Modify, Text Commands, Control, Window dan Help. Anda dapat melihat submenu yang terdapat pada masing-masing menu dengan mengeklik satu kali pada menu yang ingin Anda pilih.

1.2. Toolbox

Dalam toolbox terdapat komponen-komponen penting diantaranya: Tools, View, Colors dan Options. Toolbox memiliki peran untuk memanipulasi atau memodifikasi objek dalam stage.

1.3. Timeline

Timeline atau garis waktu merupakan komponen yang digunakan untuk mengatur atau mengontrol jalannya animasi. Timeline terdiri dari beberapa layer. Layer digunakan untuk menempatkan satu atau beberapa objek dalam stage agar dapat diolah dengan objek lain. Setiap layer terdiri dari frame-frame yang digunakan untuk mengatur kecepatan animasi. Semakin panjang frame dalam layer, maka semakin lama animasi akan berjalan.

1.4. Stage

Stage disebut juga layar atau panggung. Stage digunakan untuk memainkan objek-objek yang akan diberi animasi. Dalam stage kita dapat membuat gambar, teks, memberi warna dan lain-lain.

1.5. Panel

Beberapa panel penting dalam Macromedia Flash Pro 8 diantaranya panel: Properties & Filters & Parameters, Actions, Library, Color dan Align & Info & Transform.

1.5.1 Panel Properties & Filters & Parameters

Panel ini terdapat di bawah stage. Untuk mengeluarkan atau menyembunyikan panel ini dapat digunakan shortcut Ctrl+F3. Panel Properties & Filters & Parameters digunakan untuk untuk mengatur ukuran background, warna background, kecepatan animasi dan lain-lain.

1.5.2 Panel Actions

Panel Actions digunakan untuk menuliskan script atau bahasa pemrograman flash (ActionScript). Anda dapat mengetikkan secara langsung pada layar Actions atau menggunakan bantuan yang disediakan oleh Macromedia Flash Pro 8. Untuk memunculkan atau menyembunyikan panel ini dapat digunakan shortcut F9.

1.5.3 Panel Library

Library merupakan panel yang digunakan untuk menyimpan objek-objek berupa graphic atau gambar, button atau tombol, movie dan suara baik yang dibuat langsung pada stage ataupun hasil proses impor dari luar stage. Untuk memunculkan atau menyembunyikan panel ini dapat digunakan shortcut Ctrl+L.

1.5.4 Panel Color

Panel Color merupakan panel yang digunakan untuk memilih warna yang digunakan dalam pembuatan objek-objek pada stage. Ada dua jenis subpanel, yaitu: Color Mixer dan Swatches. Shortcut untuk Color Mixer adalah Shift+F9 dan shortcut untuk Color Swatches adalah Ctrl+F9.

1.5.5 Panel Align & Info & Transform

Untuk menampilkan panel ini Anda dapat menekan Ctrl+K pada keyboard. Panel ini digunakan untuk mengatur posisi objek, ingin diletakkan pada tengah stage, sebelah kiri atau kanan dan lain-lain. Dengan panel ini Anda juga dapat memutar objek dengan Transform.

* Buat dokumen 800 x 600 pixel, background Hitam Buat Teks MENTARI MATRIK IM3, tempatkan pada tengah lembar kerja (CTRL K)

File aplikasi Flash secara umum baik dikomputer desktop, laptop maupun di handphone memiliki ekstensi SWF. Bedanya untuk di handphone ukurannya dirancang lebih kecil, dan lebih primitif. Jika dikomputer desktop atau laptop disebut Flash Player, maka di handphone disebut dengan flash lite player. Karena Flash Player di Desktop atau di laptop itu semakin jauh, maju, modern, dan canggih dibandingkan dengan flash lite player di handphoneaplikasi flash lite player dapat dijalankan dan digunakan di desktop atau laptop manapun juga, namun sebaliknya aplikasi flash player didesktop atau laptop tidak bisa dijalankan atau digunakan di dalam handphone

Flash Lite adalah semacam aplikasi built in yang bisa menjalankan sebuah content berbasis flash pada ponsel (contoh: .swf). Kalau pada komputer kita jumpai yang namanya Flash Player, nah pada ponsel ada Flash Lite buatan Adobe ini.

Dalam perkembangannya, Flash Lite ini menjadi basis baru untuk aplikasi dan game pada ponsel. Sudah banyak game maupun aplikasi yang dibuat dengan format flash yang bisa dijalankan dengan Flash Lite. Tidak hanya terbatas pada game dan aplikasi, dengan Flash Lite kita juga dapat mempercantik ponsel dengan screensaver-screensaver yang unik dan menarik. Bukan cuma screensaver biasa loh, karena screensaver yang dibuat dengan format flash ini tidak hanya bisa menampilkan gambar bergerak, tapi bisa juga menampilkan informasi yang ada di ponsel seperti jam, tanggal, informasi baterai dan kuat sinyal, dan mungkin juga lainnya.
